Nakisima's News

Welcome back, folks.

After a few months hiatus, I have a development to share! My new track, Earth Mother , is potentially worth a job to me. That's pretty heavy. So please, go rate, comment, share, or whatever you like to make sure that when the version with the lyrics is recorded it becomes the success that I hope it will be, so I can produce even better stuff to whet your ears. And stuff.

This is my 13th post, don't make it an unlucky one!

Peace

Ultimate Tetris Mk.2 - Final made it to No.19 on the All Time Top Score list! I just about had a heart attack when I saw it up there with such fantastic tunes. I cannot thank everyone who supported me enough for this outstanding achievement in my music-making career, it really is the dog's bollocks. Thank you again you wonderful, wonderful bunch of human beings.

A massive thank you to Canadian-Jeff and RickyTheFish for using one of my tunes in their collab about pokémon! Which I haven't played for years! I might go and start all over again as a nostalgia exercise. Anyway, thanks very much guys!

Er... Ah... Uuuuum... ...
I really don't know how to express the emotion I have right now, it's a mix of euphoria, excitement and bewilderment. Exciwildoria, if you will. My Tetris mix has surpassed any of my wildest fantasies; almost perfect reviews, within reach of the top 100 songs of all time AND it seems I have a fan-base because of it. And this due to something that took 4 hours to make on a crappy Mac on crappy Garageband. Maybe now you have some idea why I have such a strange mixed feelings.
You see, I've heard some pretty good mixes of the most famous and over-done video game tune ever, which sound more professional and more complex than I could ever contemplate, and I get the credit for making the best one out there. But I'll tell you something, I couldn't have got the recognition without the wonder that is Newgrounds, and you good people that populate this vast jungle of awesomeness. I thank you all inexorably.

Remember to click for awesomeness here and here!

It's been a very long time since my last post. A year almost.

I apologise.

But nothing much has gone on, apart from making a few of my abominations and only one good song, which was a remix, so you decide if it counts or not. I'm forever grateful to PopBrain for using my first ever tune I created with Garageband in his hugely successful gaming series, "Sift Heads", which you must check out immediately if you haven't played them. Well, I seem to be out of news once again. I may carry on with "O Meus Diligo" but I can't make the piano sound like a real piano and not a "plastic toy" as one of my reviewers kindly pointed out. So it might or might not happen. We'll see.

Tata for now, folks!

I've upgraded my old PC for an Apple Mac, and now I can truly say, like the Renault Twingo, that I live in modern times. It's just "Woah."
And now it's time to put it to a little test. I'm a technical geek and self-proclaimed musical genius (hell, what musical person isn't these days?) So to combine the two, an Audio Portal submission was in order. I also needed a program to make it on... Apple? GarageBand. What? It's not as juvenile as the rounded edges and colourful bubbles suggest (yes, colourful with a "u" Americans, I don't need a spell check).

So I had the basics and something in my head, so, voila!

First, may I say Happy Clock Day to you all :)
This is the first time I have actually participated in this annual event. Early on, I quickly noticed that not one submission was blammed, even if it wasn't even related to Clock Day. I also didn't get the whole "B" business, maybe I had to be there. Anyway, It was a good opportunity to get the 'ol Blam/Protection points up (well, protection in particular) Vote 5 and you can't go wrong! Long may Clock Day continue!

Nearing the end of August/Beginning of September, I'm going to release my near-finished suite, "The Scottish Seasons" that I made from scratch using Sibelius 6. The suite is my rework of Vivaldi's Four Seasons but with the twist that I have made them with a Scottish accent, so to speak. It features piano, acoustic guitar and strings and other instruments are there for effect. I will try and set up a place from which downloads will become available though I doubt I'll get many requests :P.
Programme Notes are available also on demand. To do so, PM me your E-mail and I'll send it as an attachment.
Hope you enjoy it!

[Btw this has nothing to do with NG, duh]
Holidays are the best thing the government could do to keep the general population happy. I for one could not go more than two months without one. Lo and behold, the council gives us at least a 2-week holiday every couple of months and now, seven weeks worth of summer holiday. Fantastic.
As for the work side of things, school at the moment is hardly the most taxing activity on the planet. Even though I'm in sixth and last year at school, the work rate is so slow I doubt any OAP with Alzheimer's would have trouble following the curriculum and passing the final exams.
Anyway enough gloating for today, I think. Happy summer holidays to everyone on them and a massive Nelson-style "HAHA!" to those not yet on them.
Later!

Seeing as I'm just one big 'ol moaner, I thought I would devote at least half of this page to finding out what gets on the nerves of the regular NG user, whether it be the crappy cartoon jokes or NG in general. If we tell Mr Fulp exactly what we do and don't want, we might get new powers to really blam bad submissions to hell.
I call this Newgrounds Anger Guidance, or NAG for short.
Tell me what your pet hates are, and we can change NG for the better, for ever!
